Civil society sector points out loopholes in draft law protecting

Anti-Violence Network points out loopholes in the draft law protecting victims of domestic violence, which the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security is moving forward with proposing a civil society draft law to make the law more complete.
Today (4 April 2025), Waraporn Chaemsanit, representative of the Network Against Gender-Based Violence, stated that the current law protecting victims of domestic violence has been in effect since 2007, a total of 18 years. Although throughout this time there have been calls for it to be revised to be more in line with the current situation, it has not yet been revised.

Recently, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) has proposed a draft amendment to the Protection of Victims of Domestic Violence Act, which has been approved by the Cabinet to be forwarded to the Council of State and to the Parliament for consideration. Although the new draft law expands some protection rights for victims of domestic violence, which is something that the public agrees and supports, there are still concerns about gaps in the law and the effectiveness of its enforcement. สล็อต
